Frozen Mango Tajin Margaritas
Nothing says Cinco de Mayo weekend like a perfect margarita! Start your celebrations with a wild drink of frozen mangos and spicy chili lime salt. Please drink responsibly.

Cinco de Mayo is not really a celebration if there’s not tequila involved. Although tequila might not strike up our most favorite memories…if any at all…it’s need for almost all Mexican fiestas. If you haven’t tried my Slim & Spicy Jalapeño Margarita from last year…you’re missing out. Try that and now I have a frozen, sweet and spicy margarita that will blow your mind.
Personally, I love a limey, tart, low sugar drink and this hits on the “less sugar” mark but really amazes me with the freshness of the mango. I wanted to find a way to get some fresh fruit into something that is generally pretty full of added sugar.
I am also loving this trend of adding Tajin (chili lime salt) to fresh fruit like mango and pineapples. It’s super salty, spicy and pairs really well with the sweet fruit. That was the inspiration around this drink because the combo screams a need for tequila.

Pro tip: Of you’re wondering the best way to rim a glass for this recipe specifically it’s adding honey (oooh, or hot honey) on the rim and then dipping that rim in the Tajin. Set in the freezer until it’s time to serve. You can of course use a lime wedge and coat the outside rim of the glass but the honey obviously holds more flavor and Tajin.
I’m not mixologist but I can safely say that I portioned these out perfectly. Perfectly meaning they had enough sweetness and alcohol that wouldn’t knock you off your feet after one drink. And since there’s not really much add sugar, they won’t put you into a diabetic shock if you do prefer a few more on Cinco de Mayo.

Now let’s talk about why you can feel good about these. Each drink, since this makes 2 servings, has an entire serving of fruit. If that’s not a reason to try these and get some of your daily fruit intake, there is no added sugar or syrups. The only thing I added to sweeten these up was a little zero calorie, monk fruit sweetener.
Now, these do go down smoothly so it would be irresponsible not to mention that these are for those of the age 21+. Please always drink responsibly.
